The Trouble with Honor (Hqn Books)
Desperate times call for daring measures as Honor Cabot, the eldest stepdaughter of the wealthy Earl of Beckington, awaits her family’s ruin. Upon the earl’s death she and her sisters
stand to lose the luxury of their grand home—and their place on the pedestal of society—to their stepbrother and his social-climbing fiancée. Forced to act quickly, Honor makes a devil’s bargain with the only rogue in London who can seduce her stepbrother’s fiancée out of the Cabots’ lives for good.
An illegitimate son of a duke, George Easton was born of scandal and grows his fortune through dangerous risks. But now he and Honor are dabbling in a perilous dance of seduction that puts her reputation and his jaded heart on the line. And as unexpected desire threatens to change the rules of their secret game, the stakes may become too high even for a notorious gambler and a determined, free-spirited debutante to handle.

The Trouble With Honor by Julia London
The Cabot Sisters, Book 2
Reviewed by Miranda
The Mischievous Honor Cabot is ready to do whatever it takes to keep a roof over her and her sister’s heads after the passing of their step-father. Her brother is about to marry a woman that really has no use for Honor or her sisters. Honor is terrified of what will happen next so she comes up with a daring plan.
Honor decides to enlist the scandalous George Easton the bastard son of a Duke in her plan. Honor would like Easton to seduce her stepbrother’s fiancée away but she doesn’t count on the sparks that fly between herself and Easton. Will Easton be able to complete her task or will his feelings for Honor change his feelings regarding love?
The Trouble with Honor is a fantastic start to London’s new Cabot Sisters series. Honor and George made me laugh so many times while reading! They have such a natural chemistry that steadily grows into something else, something stronger. Their love story is a fun and entertaining read! Honor’s shenanigans are hilarious. London writes her characters and plotlines with style.
1. What draws you to the Regency period in London? Have you been to London before?
Jane Austen drew me to this era in London many years ago. What’s sexy about the regency era is all that desire simmering under layers of lace and social etiquette. The beauty and pageantry of the era also appeals to me, as do the glittering ballrooms, the fancy gowns, the jewels. It was an age where one could rarely make a social faux pas without serious consequences, and I like to put characters in impossible situations with impossible desires—George and Honor are a great example of that. As to the second part of this question, I’ve had the pleasure of visiting London on several occasions, and in fact, will be there again this summer.
2. Who are some of your favorite authors?
The first ones that came to mind are Marian Keyes, Sharon K. Penman, Philippa Gregory and of course, Jane Austen. Those are all UK authors, I note. I do like the dry sense of humor in British writing. However, I know as soon as I’m reading this question on your blog I’ll be smacking myself in the forehead and saying, what about this author or that one?!
3. The cover for The Trouble with Honor is very enticing. How much input did you have in the development of the design?
I agree! I was so thrilled with it. I gave them some ideas of the feel I hoped the cover would have, such as rich colors and a bold, sexy model to reflect the Cabot sisters. HQN really delivered. They wrote a blog about how they developed the cover I found very interesting: http://harlequinblog.com/2013/10/cover-reveal-the-trouble-with-honor-by-julia-london/
