Seasoned, act-first-ask-questions-later Detective BD Harte is assigned to protect Maggie Sullivan when she’s targeted by an escaped serial killer he’d put away once. Getting up close and personal with the sensuous widow he once felt an inappropriate temptation for threatens BD’s emotional distance. Attraction quickly flares into an irresistible passion, forcing him to wage a battle of self-control, while smothering his longing for the life he almost had…and still covets.

After one too many violent taunts, single mother Maggie Sullivan invites Detective Harte to conduct his all-night stakeouts from inside her home. Her sense of security dies when her home is broken into and she discovers Harte’s been investigating her late husband. She struggles with her attraction to him, but his understanding, tenderness and the blazing passion he awakens are yearnings she’s never known…and still desires.

Can two wounded hearts come together as one in time… Or will the killer seeking a powerful key to nuclear weaponry ensure they never have the chance?

Yes, two authors, two stories in one big bash to bring in the new year. We’re blog hopping all this month featuring Sidney Bristol’s Flirting with Rescue and my own Dirty Beautiful. Both are steamy contemporary romance presented by the Moderne line of Ellora’s Cave.

A Christmas Mission: Build a new life. Confront the past. Plan the wedding of the man she loves.

“Tangled in Tulle is a sterling romance!” ~ Miranda, Joyfully Reviewed

This is a spin off from Scent of Persuasion, Sensory Ops Book 2, but it can be read alone.

Lori Mullins yearns to shake off her past and live free of shadows and fear. Yet her only shot at obtaining the capital to launch her business rests in a man she met during a lie. A man whose voice alone turned her from jaded escort to giddy schoolgirl. A man who almost died because of her.

Trevor Masters can call off his search for the woman he loves. The woman he dreamt of while comatose. The quest for her heart, however, is only beginning. The trick will be convincing her he doesn’t blame her—and that she deserves to accept herself as the woman who holds his heart.

Business negotiations land Lori in a heavenly hell. Heaven that Trevor is close enough to touch. Hell that she’s planning her first designer wedding. His. And something’s not quite right. The kind, compassionate man she fell for all those months ago, the man who’s engaged to another, seems intent on wooing her…

At sixteen, Rose Carrison lost both her parents and her freedom. Since her father’s death, Rose has had to pick up the mantle of her family’s legacy and guard an object of incredible power, one the monsters who murdered her parents would kill to get their hands on. After ten years on the run, Rose’s luck finally runs out. A fate worse than death threatens to consume her. Then, out of the darkness, comes the most unlikely of rescuers…

Grayson van Court is a man skating on the edge of damnation. He’s a revenant: a powerful, blood-drinking, returned-from-the-dead, magical creature that no other magical species wants anything to do with. For centuries, Gray has bargained and fought for the revenants’ right to survive, but his efforts are hampered by his sociopathic mother and the madness that permeates his own soul. When Gray rescues Rose from his mother’s machinations, his intention is only to stop the attacks against his people that would surely come if Rose were harmed. But then he sees her, and everything changes. Two people who should never have met soon find themselves fighting side by side for the chance at a love that could prove to be their salvation.

HARLEQUIN OFFERS PUBLISHING CONTRACT
AS PRIZE IN WRITING CONTEST

So You Think You Can Write Event Allows Aspiring Writers
To Spend A Week With More Than 50 Harlequin Editors

NEW YORK, LONDON, TORONTO November 2, 2011 – Harlequin (www.Harlequin.com), one of the world’s leading publishers of books for women, is offering aspiring authors the chance to win a publishing contract as a prize in its second annual online So You Think You Can Write conference, which takes place November 7 – 11, 2011.
So You Think You Can Write allows hopeful romance novelists to spend an entire working week with more than 50 Harlequin editors through social media tools such as podcasts, videos, webinars, blog posts, community discussions and Twitter. Aspiring authors have the opportunity to learn valuable insider tips and have their writing samples critiqued by professional editors. Harlequin editors believe that by engaging unpublished writers, explaining the tremendous appeal of the romance genre and offering expert insights into crafting the perfect story, they can help promising young novelists hone their skills and get started on the path to publication.

In addition to interactive “face time” with editors, one talented, aspiring author will win a publishing contract to write a series romance novel for Harlequin. Harlequin editors will review submitted manuscripts and announce the winner on March 1, 2012.

“Aside from being a celebration of romance, So You Think You Can Write is primarily a search for new writers and fresh voices,” said Loriana Sacilotto, Executive Vice President, Global Editorial. “Talented writers bring with them an exciting new perspective and contribute to the evolution of the genre. So You Think You Can Write is a wonderful opportunity for aspiring authors and Harlequin editors because you never know where you might find the next Nora Roberts, Susan Mallery, Brenda Jackson or Maya Banks.”

Daily writing assignments set by Harlequin’s editors allow participants to receive daily feedback from actual acquiring editors. Harlequin editors will ask for writers’ opening pages, gripping scenes, synopses and query letters, and will respond online the next morning to a selection of submissions. The editor will also be online to answer questions. This is a unique, interactive feature not offered by any other publisher.

You all know we love romance. Well, recently one of our fellow romance lovers suffered a tremendous loss and our hearts break for her.

Fatin has been an integral part of the romance community for years – she owns and runs the RR@H Novel Thoughts and Book Talk blog, is an administrator of the WriteMinded loop, an author assistant and a tireless advocate for romance novels. She is also a friend to many in this community.

On Tuesday, March 8th, she lost her husband in a senseless act of violence, leaving her alone with four children. You can read more about the tragedy here.

The romance community would like to rally around her. Therefore, auctions have been held to raise funds for the Soufan Family Fund in efforts to assist with getting Fatin’s kids educations.

Donations can be made by sending money directly to the Soufan Family Fund at RBC Bank.
2340 Sunset Avenue
Rocky Mount, NC 27804
M-C 000-005-0100

You can also send PayPal directly to Fatin at mad4rombks @ aol.com. (No spaces.)
