Maureen Mullen is working in the publishing world, the fact that she is also a published author under an alias is something she keeps to herself. Well her gay best friend knows but he is one of the few who know about her erotic books. Maureen believes in giving back and also helping out our men and women in the military. To do this, she has become a pen pal with several military members and there is one pen pal whose emailsshe always looks forward to.
Army Staff Sergeant John Blake has no time or want to participate in the programs that match up military personnel with people back home. He has enough paperwork to deal with when they aren’t out on call. Being in the deadliest place on earth at this time, means his mind must always be on the safety of his men and their missions. However when one of his men starts talking about the erotic romance writer who is his pen pal, John just let this flow out around him. That is until John must contact her at the urging of his injured team member.
Maureen was worried about her pen pal, but the unexpected email from his Staff Sergeant puts her mind at rest for now. It also seems to open up a dialog that quickly turns erotic between her and John. Emails become phone calls and between them both, John and Maureen learn that you don’t have to meet to fall hard for someone. When circumstances make it so they can finally meet, will the same passion they felt long distance flare up in person?
The military can tear couples apart at times but it can also bring them together. Maureen and John find this out in A Few Good Men. I loved how Maureen made sure that her military pen pals always had a funny email or a care package. I could feel her caring about the men and woman she had never met from the very beginning. When John had to contact Maureen, I wondered if he could unbend enough to accept her sunshine. I found myself smiling as the emails got longer and more erotic. Also how Maureen found herself the talk of the town on a daring challenge. Their meeting was all I had begun to hope for and then some. I just knew that their love would survive a face-to-face meeting and proven right when their passion flamed higher than ever. A Few Good Men is filled with suspense, humor and an erotic passion that will have a smile on your face as the last page is turned.
I thought that the Red, Hot and Blue series might be over when the last arc seemed over. I was very happy to see that these hot military men are still getting their stories told.
