Jory Keyes and Sam Kage are on again off again lovers who can’t seem to make things work between them for long. Sam is struggling with which emotion to be more concerned about: keeping Jory safe from the bad guys who want him dead, or keeping his feelings for Jory in the closet.

A Matter of Time 2 is a roller coaster ride of angst and emotion. Jory and Sam are together, then they’re not.  I was happy, then I was sad. It almost killed me. Sam surprised me often. Sometimes they were good surprises and sometimes not, and it made me root for Jory’s happiness throughout. The action picks up in A Matter of Time 2 and so does the angst. I immediately pick up A Matter of Time 2 after finishing A Matter of Time 1 because it’s that good and that riveting. There is an inconsistency in the plot towards the end, though, that results in Jory’s life being threatened. I can’t say more than that without serving up a spoiler. Consequently, it should have gone down differently. On the flip side, I love Sam and Jory, and I love how A Matter of Time 2 ends for them.
