Jade, a vampire protection hunter, has lost one lover to the vampire attacks so she plans to never let anyone close enough again to get hurt again.  Instead she has decided to throw herself into her job and new promotion, and if she needs to “scratch an itch” she will do it with one night stands.

Commander Philip Pierceson is intrigued by his new team member.  When he sees her in a local club and they end up having a wild night of sex and passion he decides that he needs to convince her that they can be more than coworkers.

When the next morning rolls around and Jade reports for duty she is shocked to see her one night stand is her commander.  How will she ever be able to gain any of her  new coworkers respect?  And what about the sparks that are evident between her and Philip?

Ms. Ferry has an interesting look into the vampire story culture with this fast paced, action packed adventure.  I thoroughly enjoyed how she integrated the romance into the action adventure that the characters were thrust into.  And the initial humor of the two meeting the morning after the “one night stand” makes it funny.  If you want a vampire romance where the vampires are the bad guys and the humans are the tortured soles with potential to love, than A Passionate Force is for you!
