Dr. Lina Taylor was born to be an archeologist.  She grew up in the jungles of Mexico following her father on his digs.  She grew to love the history of her people and feels passionately about protecting the artifacts that tell the stories from so long ago.  Since gaining her extensive education Lina has distanced herself from her cold father and controlling mother.  She likes her University teaching job in Texas and loves working at the museum.  Her life seems ordinary until the handsome Hunter Johnston walks into her classroom.

Hunter Johnston used to be with Immigration and Customs Enforcement before he went to work  for his uncles in the private sector.  When his best friend Jase needs help with an ICE case Hunter is eager to assist especially when he finds out that Dr. Lina Taylor may be able to help.

However, neither Lina nor Hunter is prepared for the mystery and murderous masterminds behind the recent devilish behavior. As targets are painted on them they must search for clues and hide from their enemies while battling their burgeoning feelings.  Will they survive to start anew together or will their fates be deadly?

Beautiful Sacrifice is a thrilling mystery blazing with action and romance!  Lina and Hunter light up the pages as they struggle to uncover the mystery surrounding the Maya artifacts.  Ms. Lowell does an amazing job of pulling the reader in with her excellent descriptions of the artifacts and eerie telling of the history surrounding the culture.  I was drawn into this story by its intensity as well as the stunning and strong Lina Taylor.  She pulls no punches and knows her stuff. I really like this woman.  Hunter is the perfect counterbalance to Lina.  I love their interactions with each other.  One thing I adore is the subtlety of their attraction and desire.  These two take the slow burn approach but as things get hotter passion takes precedence!   From Texas to the heart of the Mexican jungle Elizabeth Lowell’ Beautiful Sacrifice takes you on an unforgettable adventure!
