Neva Grant’s twin sister Savannah was critically injured by a murderous wolf that has been killing women at the town’s full moon dances. Savannah is head of the town’s rangers and Neva plans to take over where Savannah left off in the investigation. Neva is willing to do whatever it takes to find the killer including offer herself to Duncan Sinclair.
Duncan Sinclair and his family host the full moon dances at their home. At these dances the town’s wolves participate in sexual games and debauchery. Duncan left a few years ago when he could no longer handle his family’s lifestyle. He’s back now because someone is targeting his brother’s mates, killing them and then making his family look guilty. Duncan plans to find the person responsible. He never planned to mate while at home but he finds it impossible to resist the beautifully enticing Neva. However, he soon finds reason to suspect that Neva’s not being completely honest with him.
Duncan and Neva have bound themselves together for a week. Will they learn to trust one another in time to save each other from the vicious killer laying-in-wait? Will these two opposites discover a lasting love?
Keri Arthur’s Beneath a Rising Moon is so hot the pages burn with eroticism and hold-your-breath action. Neva and Duncan are sinfully delicious together. Both characters are strong and independent with enough attitude to go around. I love how their relationship begins hot and heavy and then they are both forced to take a hard look at the person they have essentially already given themselves to. Neva is a pretty straight forward girl but Duncan is hiding a lot at the beginning. It’s fun getting to know the real Duncan along with Neva. She is forced to put aside what she thinks she knows to find the real Duncan. Not only does Ms. Arthur give the reader a boatload of passionate desire and a couple to cheer for but she also delivers an exciting plotline in Beneath A Rising Moon as well.
The murder plot is thrilling and I may have guessed early on the culprit but found myself pleasantly surprised by the who and why of it all. I also found myself thoroughly excited by the fact that the story is dominated by wolves living in a wolf community. In this story everyone definitely embraces their wolfy nature. I loved the bond between Neva and her twin sister Savannah and I personally cannot wait to find out what happens next with Savannah. The Ripple Creek series is another first-rate series from Keri Arthur: Beneath the Rising Moon is an A++.
