Kristen Smith is the proud owner of her dream a daycare center. Kristen and her sisters recently moved back to their small hometown. She has many happy memories to associate with the town but there is an unhappy one as well—and he just walked through her door.

Randy Stroud made the biggest mistake of his life when he walked away from Kristen. Randy enrolls his son Wade into Kristen’s daycare and is not shocked to discover she has only gotten more beautiful. It doesn’t take Randy long to decide he’s ready to right the wrong he made all those years ago. Unfortunately, Kristen isn’t ready to trust Randy with her heart once again. Can Randy show her he’s a changed man?

Better Late than Never is a sweet romance. I didn’t love this story but I didn’t hate it either. Kristen and Randy have great chemistry. I think this story really hits its groove around fifty pages in. I was interested throughout but I didn’t feel a connection to these characters until then. I have to say my attention was constantly pulled in the direction of Kristen’s sister Keirra and her opposition of police officers. The moments that truly got me are the ones featuring Randy’s son, Wade.
