The gang is entrenched in San Francisco while Alpha Kontra’s mate seeks out a warlock who will teach him to access and control his magical gifts. Craziness ensues when another member of the shifter gang finds his human mate and the mate’s sister thinks him kidnapped. Next thing they know the cops are at the door.
Turns out all the chaos is somehow meant to be because one of the cops is none other than the missing warlock, Detective Draven Mansetti who is also half vampire. In addition, it appears that Draven is gang member Vail Tamang’s mate.
Findings one’s mate is usually a time for joy and happiness. But not apparently for Vail. He’s long professed to never want to find his mate though no one really believed him. Vail confesses to Draven and his friends that a curse was placed on his family long ago ensuring death to those who mated his line and he’s not about to risk the life of his mate. Vail is about to learn how stubborn his ‘almost’ mate can be.
It is the mate who is the stronger partner this time as Draven takes charge of his skittish wolf in the 10th Kontra’s Menagerie story. The character driven tale encompasses their lively romance as well as letting other gang members have a voice. Breaking the Playboy’s Curse focuses on engaging characters, a steady plotline, and some spicy loving. There aren’t any big surprises, nonetheless readers will enjoy this addition to the series.
