Amber works on a prison ship harboring people with the Cleaven gene who have committed any crime. People with the Cleaven gene have trouble keeping their anger under control. On the prison ship’s they are taught how to keep their anger in check. Amber is a reformed prisoner who remained on the ship to counsel other people like her. Amber finds it easier to stay on board the ship because then she doesn’t have to deal with the fact that she’s alone.
Jaden also a reformed prisoner works transferring goods and prisoners between land and the ships. Jaden is caught off guard when he meets Amber. He feels an instant attraction to her. He hasn’t had this kind of reaction to a woman since his wife’s murder. What is more intriguing to him is he wants to figure her out; he admires her abilities with the prisoners.
A storm is brewing. A nefarious darkness has made its way on board. Amber can feel it coming but it appears to be coming from all over. It is difficult to tell who is a friend and who the enemies are. An unstable prisoner attempting suicide, a hijacking attempt, and an evil man determined to finish what he started. These are just a few of the things that make Crash into Darkness an exciting adventure.
Suzanne Perazzini created a unique world in Crash into Darkness. Amber and Jaden have an immediate connection that neither is sure what to do about. It was almost like going to see an action movie. I felt as if I was right in the middle of the action. Just when you think you have it all figured out boom another surprise. The great thing about it to me was it didn’t feel like too much. I wasn’t sitting here thinking ‘yeah right, that’s not plausible’. Crash into Darkness has an amazing ending that I was not expecting, I so love when that happens. Crash into Darkness was an action-packed thrill ride that I found thoroughly enjoyable.
