Six months ago Valentine and Jack were having a rocking hot good time together.  Then Jack got serious with Val and proposed—for all the wrong reasons.  Since their breakup, each has gone on with their lonely lives still aching for the other, neither willing to concede their point.

Valentine is a late night talk show host who has provoked the wrong people.  Jack is a detective and you can bet he’ll be on her case.  Jack wants to do whatever it takes to keep the woman he loves safe, even if he has to use sex to get back in her good graces.  Can these two set aside their problems to discover who is targeting Val?  Will they be able to sort through their differences to settle the issues that drove them apart months ago?

Cross My Heart is a sizzling erotic novella with strong characters.  It was very interesting how this story started.  The couple gets together and then boom they’ve been apart for six months.  It is different than I’m used to and I really liked it.  Sometimes good relationships don’t always make it; they break up for the wrong reasons and the couples stop fighting for each other.  Cross My Heart gives a good example of this, and the best part is that the ill fated couple are brought back together wiser than they were before.  I love that the phrase Cross My Heart usually accompanies a promise.  In this case, Jack and Val are essentially promising to do things differently this time around.  Cross My Heart also features a bit of action but, at the center of this novella, is a strong emotional story guaranteed to strike a chord.
