Julian DuCharme is determined to claim his mate. The only problem is that she is one of the most headstrong women he has ever met. While he doesn’t think this is a problem the fact that she insists on “dating” is driving him (and his bear) nuts.
Cynthia “Cyn” Reyes can’t believe that the super hot Julian seems to think that they are supposed to be together. While her libido is all for it she intellectually is fighting it every step. She is bound and determined to not lose herself in a man as her mother did. And she is definitely not tattooing “property of Cyn” on his butt, though it might be fun to look at said butt for a while.
Suddenly Cyn and her employees/friends are in the crosshairs of a vicious killer. Now she will turn to Julian and anyone that will help her keep them safe. But she will not let him sacrifice his life for hers, though she would give up everything to keep him safe.
I am seriously hooked by the folks in Halle and can’t wait for the next book to come out. I loved how Ms. Bell was able to keep Cyn true to herself, especially during her vision quest. The interaction between all of the characters is easily believable from the sisterly love to the attractions. I just wish we knew what the rest of the darn prophecy means. The Halle Shifters continues to be a wonderful series and Cynful keeps the high standard brought forth in the first novel.
