Taking another step in making a new life for herself after her husband’s death, Leigh Kelly has returned to a place where she only knew love and has many happy memories of her time with her husband – their cabin on Whidbey Island. However, for Leigh this isn’t exactly a trip down memory lane, Leigh has accepted a job at a bar/restaurant and has even experienced lust over a mysterious man who just happens to be a neighbor.
Niles Latimer is the leader of his pack of werehounds. Yes, I said werehounds, as in very large dogs. He and his team are special ops experienced and on a mission to find women who cannot only accept them as they are but might also allow them to become human once again. Niles believes that Leigh is one of those women and more importantly, his woman.
Leigh realizes pretty quickly that something strange is going on in Chimney Rock and is really mystified when she starts having strange visions. Leigh would think she has enough to deal with getting use to her new job and surroundings and trying to understand the budding passion with Niles. However, it seems that there is much more going on at night that includes danger and most of the people Leigh has day-to-day contact with. Niles knows that he and his team might not be favorites of the other paranormal creatures that live in and around Chimney Rock but he is determined to keep this town safe for his team and the residents, even if it means starting a war with the other paranormal creatures. Leigh and Niles finally give in to the passion that has sprung up between them. While searching for the answers they need to win against their enemies, they discover that there is something very special about Leigh. The question is, will all the answers help them or make it worse?
Take one mysterious and sexy man combine with one woman looking for a new beginning and stir in some paranormal forces and you have Darkness Bound. Leigh and Niles meet at just the moment when other forces of the night are beginning their charge on the small town. I loved watching Niles and Leigh trying to explore their passion while at the same time discover just what was going on in Chimney Rock. I really enjoyed watching as Leigh and Niles combated against their enemies and came out not only ahead but with a hope for a better future for themselves, Chimney Rock and the werehounds. I really loved meeting a new type of were and found out that they were not in step with all the other paranormal creatures of the night. Darkness Bound is full of suspense, passion and discovery that had me fully engaged until the end. I look forward to seeing which werehound will find his mate next and their adventure.
