Jack Hargreaves is a shapeshifter and an agent with STORM US, but by profession he is a librarian and archivist. Jack just returned to England because while cleaning up from a previous mission, the names of people he associated with while getting his degree came up. Jack is no longer the man who left England broken hearted and looking for a new adventure, but it might be best to play this game by pretending he is. That is until he meets the person he will be sharing an office with.
Emuishéré (Shere) Baymoui is a shapeshifter and an agent with STORM UK. Shere is a certain type of agent, who goes in, gets the job done and gets out—but that totally changes when she finds Jack on the same case. The attraction between the two is instant and strong but Shere has secrets that she isn’t sure should be shared just yet. After a phone call to her boss, Shere gets help that just might cause more problems then he solves. Her sometimes partner, Oliver Cranfield, Earl of Derrington, also STORM UK agent and vampire, is called in.
Jack and Shere are overwhelmed at how fast and deep their passion has become. It is growing almost as fast as the danger that is closing in on them. Jack has never wanted a man before but there is something about Oliver that tugs at him. If things weren’t heated enough between Jack and Shere, just throw in Oliver and the bed sheets are steaming. The question is, does the passion between Jack and Shere have room for Oliver too, or is there another facet to their relationship that hasn’t been discovered yet? While trying to figure out these answers, danger hits too close to home and now all three have to work together or they will never find out just what can be.
When you have instant passion can it be a lasting one? Emotion in Motion makes you ask this question. I know I did as I read how fast and deep Jack and Shere came together, and then Oliver showed up and everything became hotter and faster than ever. I expected the danger, and of course the erotic sex from one of Ms. Connolly’s paranormal books, but this one was the hottest I can remember in a long time. I loved how fast and well all the agents got into the groove to solve the case. I expected a different ending but loved how the triangle was worked out. Emotion in Motion will burn your fingertips with its eroticism, as well as the excellent suspense, as you flip the pages.
While this book isn’t part of a series, it is loosely connected to the Ecstasy in Red series. That is the series where Jack first appeared, however, you don’t need to have read that series for this book. It is totally stand-alone.
