Detectives Gabe Moretti and Nick Dane are on a stakeout when they spot several extremely large men, soon followed by their suspect, in a nearby alleyway. The detectives split up to pursue their perp when Nick comes across yet another huge man as well. Chaos erupts with the consequences of Nick suffering memory loss and all the strangers gone, including their suspect. The only evidence is the injury to Nick’s neck, neat holes seemingly made by teeth.
As a demon hunter it is up to Tehmper and his clan brothers to bring their rogue demons back home to Jinnistan for justice. On one such mission Tehmper discovers his Demonas Amate, his mate in a surface dweller named Gabe. Unfortunately for Tehmper he must leave Gabe for the moment and see to his duty with the rogue.
A ruling by their leader, the Amir complicates Tehmper’s plans to claim his mate. Nevertheless, Gabe and Nick find themselves taken to the demon homeland for their own safety. Further difficulties arise, making it seem as though the gods themselves conspire against Tehmper and Gabe from ever consummating their destiny.
Scorching hot lovers and an original tale will captivate and enthrall readers in Fire Demon. Complete opposites, yet perfectly matched in temperament, Gabe and Tehmper are worlds apart to put it mildly, but watching them figure things out is half the fun in Fire Demon. The other enjoyable half is the rest of the characters in this thoroughly unique setting. Readers are given little description of the demon world, though, which is a pity. I’m also keeping my fingers crossed that Nick isn’t left hanging, without his own demon lover. Fire Demon is primal, intriguing, and totally hot entertainment.
