Torrin St. James just woke up from a coma that lasted four years. The coma was the result of his last case when a crime boss shot him; a risk of being a member of PsyCorps. Now he has learned from his handler, Quintus Aurelius, that the two other members of his psychic triad, Riley Valin and Sky Roarke, have been told he died as a result of this shooting, when in reality he had been placed into the WitSecPsi program. In normal circumstances that would have been horrible enough, but Psy Triads are intimately entwined – Sky was his fiancé. Torrin is an empath, Riley is a resonance partner, and Sky is the Anchor, and when combined, their psychic abilities make them the perfect match in all ways.

The pain Torrin feels upon learning this makes him that much more determined to get to Riley and Sky as soon as possible. Another issue is that, as an empath, Torrin required constant touch and feelings to bring him out of the coma. With his partners believing him dead, Torrin wants to know who provided that part of his recovery and how will it affect his reunion with Riley and Sky. Two days before Christmas, Torrin and Quintus travel, and Torrin is about to find out if he can reclaim his place with Riley and Sky. Many issues have to be worked though in a time of loving family gatherings, and what about the danger that threatened Torrin’s life in the first place?

Can love be reclaimed when pain and betrayal tore it apart?  Torrin, Riley, Sky, and Quintus all find the answers in Ghost of Christmas Past.  I was a bit surprised at all the background laid out in the very beginning of the book. However, as I read on it was very apparent that to understand the entire story, I needed this information. My heart went out to all four of the main characters because they were all hurt in one way or another through no fault of their own.  The reunion was as special as I expected, and yet was more than I expected at the same time. I truly loved how all the emotion was not only worked through but had been made into something that would grow as the years went on.  I could see that four years apart had not fractured this group at all but, instead, had made them stronger. Ghost of Christmas Past brings danger, betrayal, and everlasting love, and wrapped it up in one beautiful holiday package. One that can be unwrapped over and over again.
