Zach Littman made a huge mistake when he let his wife leave him.  He realizes now how he pushed her away, and when he gets another chance he’s going to take it.  But will he be able to let her stand on her own or will he try to force his views on her once again?

Mallory Littman loves her job as an arson investigator.  It fits since she can wield fire herself.  She knows her job can be dangerous but as a human born into an Elect family, Mallory is always trying to prove she has what it takes to protect her kind.

There is something nefarious going on and Mallory is going undercover to stop it.  Will Zach be able to win his wife back and protect her at the same time? Will Mallory be able to protect her heart from being broken all over again?

The Guardian takes us back into the world of The Elect.  Zach and Mallory obviously had a hot and heavy marriage and we can tell it’s killing them both to be apart but Mallory has her reasons.  As Mallory tries to take hold of the reigns of her life Zach keeps injecting himself into it.  There chemistry is exciting but I had trouble getting into this plot.  There was something missing for me but I’m not sure what exactly that is.

I enjoyed Zach’s determination to get his wife back in his life.  It did provide some sexy and funny moments.
