Brock had been there for Vivian throughout her ordeal when his own brother couldn’t be bothered to show up for his wife. But after the temptation that she presented when their feelings ran deeper than superficial, Brock distanced himself in order to avoid betraying his brother. However, Brock dabbles in a lifestyle that hands control over to another party. Vivian isn’t keen on giving up her control in situations as evidenced by her volatile marriage to Eugene Michaels. Will she be able to submit to Brock’s Dom tendencies in order to be with him, or will she decide that she can’t give up what she has fought so hard to obtain?

His Forbidden Submissive had some steamy, melt your socks off scenes between its covers, with a couple that you were rooting to gain their HEA. However, I would have preferred more on the building of Brock and Viv’s relationship before the story begins. I wanted to see that scene where Brock tucked tail and ran before Viv did her “carpe diem” attitude change. I needed some other background information fleshed out further in His Forbidden Submissive to truly get lost in its pages, as well.

His Forbidden Submissive led me to believe that it would be more along another line, but I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t. In fact, I preferred the road that His Forbidden Submissive travelled, given the experiences that Viv had undergone off pages. I liked that Brock even explained things to Viv about his lifestyle, but I still wanted to know what her punishment would have been if she’d disobeyed him. I wanted more boundaries pushed rather than the slight dabble His Forbidden Submissive explored.

While Brock and Viv were steamy together, I felt that the secondary characters were cardboard and didn’t seem to really add much to the story. It was as though there was too much information missing from His Forbidden Submissive to truly engage this reader. I also wondered why Viv would have endured her marriage as long as she did given the fact that she didn’t like to give up control to her husband.
