Lauren Reynolds is an Assistant District Attorney about to begin a trial that will take a lot of her time and concentration.  She is also the daughter of a very powerful man that puts her in the spotlight a lot.  While at her father’s outlandish birthday party, Lauren is finally introduced to a man that makes everything in her go tingly – Royce.

Royce Walker is a former FBI agent and now runs a security agency with his two brothers.  He also works security for Lauren’s father so he has never acted on the feelings that he has for Lauren.  That became even harder when Royce had a chance to meet and talk with Lauren and discover that she was much more than he thought.  Now the thought of being with Lauren is more than just a passing maybe and she is more than a person across the room.

Royce has a very big secret that means acting on his feelings for Lauren would be a huge mistake right now, yet when passion comes calling Royce cannot resist either his feelings or Lauren.  Lauren is suddenly pulled in many directions, her trial, her feelings for Royce and now the fact that someone has targeted her with harm in mind.  Things between Royce and Lauren are getting hotter than ever just as the danger is ramping up against Lauren.  Royce is not going to let anything get to Lauren, but when the secret he has been keeping quiet comes out Royce might have lost the battle with both Lauren and whoever is stalking her.  Lauren feels betrayed on a couple of fronts but is that going to be enough for her to walk away from Royce and what they could have?  Lauren finds her answers when she is suddenly faced with the danger that has been stalking her for weeks and needs to hold on until Royce can find her.

Danger and politics twist together when Royce and Lauren finally answer the call of their hearts in Hot Secrets.  I knew that Royce was going to be in deep trouble when I found out about the job he had taken just when he started to get personal with Lauren.  Lauren was proud and backed her father’s work but she had no wish to ever be involved in it.  She changed that a bit when Royce became more than the head of her father’s security.  I loved how their feelings ramped up just as things began to get crazy and suddenly Royce and Lauren’s future depended on them solving just who was out to harm Lauren.  I had figured out some of who was behind the attempts on Lauren but not the entire story until it was revealed.  I really love it when that happens.  Hot Secrets is very hot when Lauren and Royce come together with the perfect amount of suspense and humor to add in the mixture.
