Jewel Capriati has lived in the Caribbean for quite a few years now and considers herself an island girl. Although she helps her father run his fishing business for tourists, Jewel has learned the hard way that helping them to catch fish is the only relationship to have. This last month though, she has been tempted to forget this self-imposed rule for one tourist who doesn’t seem in a hurry to leave.
J.T. Hollander is from Manhattan where he is a stockbroker. J.T. left New York behind needing to get away and find himself again. He hasn’t been acting like the stress induced stockbroker he usually is during his stay on the island, but rather like a grown up beach boy. He is used to doing things his way and getting to know Jewel is no different.
When J.T. suddenly makes his move one afternoon and invites Jewel to dinner, she accepts. Although she has an inner fight with herself about getting involved with someone who will leave the island, the dinner turns into a very sensual experience rather than a usual first date. J.T. knows there is something in Jewel’s past that put up a wall between her and male tourists. J.T. has made his decision and now he just needs to convince Jewel. Can he find a way to knock that wall down? Jewel now needs to see if she can overcome her past and have faith in J.T.
Passion simmers in island heat. Island Fantasy has all the right parts for the perfect whole: hot hero, sexy heroine, surf, sand and sun. Not only do the parts make the perfect whole but it’s also done in such a way that held my attention and gave me a warm feeling. It was so easy to fall for JT and I felt for the bad experience the Jewel had. Island Fantasy is a light-hearted story perfect for the warm days of summer. This is a story that will go into my short story library to be read again and again—no matter the season.
