Jabril Karim is the vampire Lord of Texas. He has been hearing the stories about Lord Raphael and his human lover. Jabril would like nothing better than to one up Raphael by taking his woman. When a young girl runs away from his home, Jabril contacts P.I. Cynthia Leighton for help. Jabril doesn’t really think a woman can do this job but it is the perfect opportunity to take something away from the almighty Lord Raphael.

Cynthia Leighton is tired of nursing her broken heart. If Lord Raphael doesn’t want her enough to stick around then fine. It’s time to move on. When Lord Jabril calls with a possible case she hops a plane to Houston. However, what she finds when she gets there leads her believe that Lord Jabril might not be as innocent as he would like to appear.

Cynthia spots an injustice and is ready to remedy it in her own special way. Nabbing Jabril’s trust fund vampire out from under his nose and racing against time to get back into Raphael’s territory. Yeah, that’s definitely something out of Cyn’s playbook. Now Jabril’s on the war path not only does he want his vampire back, he wants Cyn as well and is willing to do anything to get her. How will Raphael react to Cyn’s latest dangerous endeavors? He won’t get much of a chance with the police trying to pin the latest string of murders on his head. Can Cyn save Raphael from murder charges and deal with the evil Jabril or has she finally taken on more than she can handle?

Jabril is a fast-paced thriller that will leave you agog. Jabril’s character is spooky and evil; he is the perfect nemesis for Cyn and Raphael. I can officially say I am in love with this series! D.B. Reynolds spectacular way of fleshing out these fantastic characters and developing a sensational story to surround them astounds me. At page one I’m immediately enraptured by this new plot and all the ways it is going to push the hero and heroine together and pull them apart. I do love Cyn and Raphael and how Jabril messes with their relationship. I experienced plenty of emotions while reading Jabril: fear, anger, hope, and love. I admit at first I was skeptical. I couldn’t imagine how Jabril could live up to the first book but I find myself pleasantly surprised. Jabril is a stunning treat that expands this sizzling story in many new and fascinating ways. I absolutely recommend that this series be read in order for maximum satisfaction!
