Secret McQueen is just weeks away from her wedding and is facing some all new horrors – a wedding planner, picking out the right wedding dress and getting to the church on time. On top of this it seems her mother’s family isn’t happy with her groom to be, werewolf king of the East, Lucas Rain. Besides Lucas and the pack, Secret is pretty happy with her other werewolf lover and bond mate, Desmond Alvarez, who just happens to be Lucas’ lieutenant. For once it appears that her vampire half will let the werewolf half be front and center. But not everyone is happy about Secret’s wedding plans.
Lucas and Secret end up going to visit her newly discovered uncle, werewolf king of the South. They both know that for this wedding to go off without a hitch, they will need to get his blessing. However, the vampire tribunal isn’t going to let Secret travel without protection and who should they call in but sentry and her old trainer, Holden Chancery – the same vampire who has made it plain he wants Secret for his own. Secret soon learns that getting her uncle’s approval means completing a task that just might be the end of her and her wedding plans.
Things get even crazier when Secret and Lucas come back home and she discovers that actions taken have had long lasting results. The wedding is looming even closer as Secret tries to come to terms with not only what the wedding will mean to her but also what it will mean to her relationships with Holden and Desmond. The big day has finally arrived, will it fulfill Secret’s every dream or will it be the worse day of her life?
Can a werewolf king and a vampire assassin/tribunal member find happiness in a lifetime together? Secret and Lucas are going to discover the answers to this and a whole lot more in Keeping Secret. I have followed Secret all through her journey from assassin to tribunal member with her vampire side along with her odd relationship with Holden; and also with her romances with both her bond werewolf mates – Lucas and Desmond. All the way through, I knew that it would lead up to Secret and Lucas finally getting married and firmly bonded together. But I have to admit that at times I wondered if it was for their love or for the pack. The journey has been bumpy and bloody and yet I still kept hoping that Secret would get the wedding and life she has always wanted. I can’t say much about the ending of the book because I want you to read it and experience it like I did. I can tell you that once again, Secret will have some serious butt kicking to do and this time the recipients might surprise you. Keeping Secret takes your emotions on a serious roller coaster ride with all the highs and lows that will make you smile and shock you.
