Madelyn Cooper has come a long way since her meager beginnings in Glendale, Texas. She ran out of that town under a dark cloud; unmarried and pregnant. Now she is a successful Judge with a great record. Unfortunately someone is unhappy with her and determined to show her their deadly kind of Justice. After her best friend is murdered Maddie must take her daughter back to Glendale and introduce her to the one man she knows can protect them…Rand the boy she left behind.
Rand McCade is the Sheriff of Glendale now and he prides himself on keeping his community safe. The last thing he needs is for Maddie to bring trouble to his door. He never understood why she left him when he needed her most and he’s yet to get over it. Well, Rand is about to get more answers than he ever expected and a daughter to boot. Can he protect them from a desperate killer? Will love find Maddie and Rand again or will their love be an ill-fated one?
Lone Star Justice is rife with drama, desire and danger! In the beginning I wasn’t certain I was going to like this story but as soon as Maddie and Rand shared a page together the sparks flew. The steamy attraction between these two is fierce. And when Rand discovers the truth about his daughter well those are some great scenes. Funny thing about Lone Star Justice I went through most of the book thinking I knew exactly who the killer is but Ms. Scott throws in a really nice curveball for the readers! Now I did feel that Brandy, Rand and Maddie’s daughter, took the whole finding daddy thing a little too easy but I did really like Maddie and Brandy’s relationship. Overall, Lone Star Justice keeps the suspense amped up and the romance on high.
