Six months after having her heart broken and ripped out, Frankie received a letter from her husband. Mark, her estranged husband, is the man that ripped her heart out and threw away their three year marriage for a night of sex with another woman! Frankie never let Mark explain or try to make reparations for what he did…she reacted and left. Frankie shut her feelings off and plodded through with her life the best she knew how. However, that first letter starts opening up wounds better left sealed, and Frankie finds she must face that night the love of her life betrayed her. Mark intends to woo his wife back, or at least get her to allow him to make things right, but will she allow that, or will she seek a bit of revenge sex of her own?
Love, Interrupted draws you in and makes you consider things and realize again that there are shades of grey within life. I found myself feeling badly for Mark at times and not just because of his betrayal and the consequences. There for a bit, it felt like Frankie was more interested in what Mark could give her than what they truly had in Love, Interrupted. I found that my emotions were engaged in some instances in Love, Interrupted, but not by the primary characters. I wanted someone to explain to Frankie’s BFF exactly what that job entailed! She needed to realize that there isn’t a right or wrong way to grieve nor a time table for that to occur in Love, Interrupted. However, I understood that she had some good points in the end.
Love, Interrupted just felt too short to deal with something so emotionally hurtful to really engage the reader in Frankie and Mark’s HEA. There were also a few times I felt lost in the actions that occurred in Love, Interrupted. It was as though they didn’t have a smooth transition.
