Months of filming finally behind him Alex arranges for a trip to the wilds of Oregon with some of his closest friends, including Jeff, a lover from years ago who he recently ran into at a party. Because they reconnected Alex feels that Jeff is the man meant to be his other half.

The out of the way Inn is the perfect place for Alex and Jeff to rekindle their romance. A hitch in Alex’s plans however is an Inn employee, Ben Anderson. For some unknown reason Alex feels drawn to the quiet, self reliant man even while he’s trying to strengthen his relationship with Jeff. Evenings of shooting stars and blazing campfires add to the romantic setting. Destiny has someone in mind for Alex, but who is the question.

A tender love story with all the chaos of mixed signals is played out in Mercury in Retrograde. As with any relationship it’s miscommunication that makes a mess where love is concerned. Mercury in Retrograde is a charming, character driven story focusing more on Alex and Ben’s romance than sexual activity, though the characters are certainly passionate in their search for love. This is a sweet love story without being too sugary.
