A childhood trauma will shape Izador into the man he becomes. The tragic loss of his parents and the vengeance served by vampire Prince Sheridan Amaranth who adopts Izador all contribute in molding the unique half vampire/half sea shifter.
Knowing of the power play going on, Izador and Prince Sheridan search out and confront those who hold the various jewel powers of the Spirit of Gaia. It is agreed that Breanainn of the O’Sidohachain or his preferred name of Brian will accompany the pair back to their home in the Amazon as a guest or as a prisoner, depending on the point of view.
For the first time in his long life Izador feels out of his depth because the fae returning home with them is none other than his mate. The gentle Brian doesn’t understand why his mate is unwilling to complete their bond. Brian can feel Izador’s desire for him, but he can also sense a sorrow that’s never been addressed. Tensions mount when an assassination attempt is made on the Prince and Brian is implicated. Hunting down the would be killer further complicates the situation. Survival may be the least of Izador and Brian’s problems when the assassin is unmasked. Their lives will never be the same again.
Moonlight’s Haven, Waves of Blood will leave you reeling. Between intrigue and passion there’s never a moment to take a breath. The multi-layered plotline in the Deadly Mates series continues to unfurl with more complex stories and unique characters. Fans of this series will love returning for more exploits and danger, whereas new readers might be slightly lost even with the back story provided in this book. Izador is not an easy character to comprehend though Brian is an open book, plus there’s someone else but I can’t revel that part. Suffice to say, Moonlight’s Haven, Waves of Blood is filled with danger, excitement, erotic sexual moments, and everything else a reader will find enticing. Very entertaining.
