The great Gathering is called and the guests are assembled. They are blindsided however by their Elders’ announcement. A spell is cast forcing everyone there into mating heat. If they refuse to mate with someone from another group they will lose their particular gift forever.

An extremely rare and ancient hippogriff shifter, Colton Bishop hates these gatherings and this year he’s even more unhappy after being tricked by the Elders. Colton decides to leave the crowded, crazy ballroom for a few hours to figure out his next move.

In another part of the castle ferret shifter Sylvester ‘Sly’ Jordan is quietly taking back his property from ex-lover Grant Billings. Sly’s timing is off however because Grant sees him and the chase is on. Quickly ditching his property Sly runs into the ballroom and the arms of the sexy, muscular man in the corner. Luckily for Sly his rescuer, Colton takes pity on him and protects him from Grant. The next step is deciding whether or not the pair should follow orders and mate. Neither wants a lifelong commitment simply because they ran into each other. This could be fate or a disaster.

What starts out as a shot in the dark becomes the best thing they ever did in Myth and Mischief. Steamy lovemaking and endearing characters combine with a high drama ending make Myth and Mischief a very entertaining tale. The Midnight Matings series continues to offer clever plotlines again and again. Colton and Sly make Myth and Mischief shine with catchy dialogue, realistic concerns, and a solid twist or two.
