Chetiera and her elder are the last of the cheetah shifter clan that were nearly extinguished by dhamphirs and vampires. While trying to quench her thirst for vengeance, Chetiera finds herself having romantic feelings for two dhamphirs who are attempting to persuade her to be their mate. Krulnar and Ulnik know that it will not be easy to woo the fierce cheetah but are willing to try anything because little does Chetiera know she is their true mate. Will Chetiera let her hatred get in the way of true love?

Of Cheetah’s Blood by Charisma Knight is a very interesting take on the romantic paranormal genre. Chetiera is the last of the Dulhari, the cheetah shifter clan. Krulnar and Ulnik are a part of a dhamphir clan seeking to make Chetiera their mate in order to battle against the evil vampires who are trying to dominate every realm in existence. Chetiera is incredibly stubborn and unlikable until half way through the book where the “method behind her madness” is explained. Krulnar comes off as the most favorable character in the story as centuries have aided in tempering his rashness with compassion and wisdom.

Although this is a stand-alone book, it appears that Of Wolf’s Blood should be read beforehand in order to appreciate the world building and alternate reality that Ms. Knight uses in her story. It was greatly appreciated that a glossary was added in the beginning of the book to explain the use of terms used throughout the story. Of Cheetah’s Blood by Charisma Knight, much like its predecessor, is a delightful read full of promise. The one flaw noticed in this story is that Ulnik’s character is not as fleshed out as Krulnar. The reader was given the impression that Chetiera loves Krulnar because of the heavy interaction throughout the story. Due to this, Ulnik comes off as an unnecessary main character and only used to fulfill the ménage aspect of the story. Hopefully as the series continues, Ms. Knight will be able to adequately flesh out all main characters and not just two as this is a romance involving three people. Regardless of this minute issue, Ms. Knight is certainly establishing a unique paranormal romance. Ms. Knight has such a way with words that I am anxiously anticipating the next installation of this series.
