A scientist labeled the phenomenon as the S.S.E.X. syndrome or the selenic and solar extreme xenogenesis. In laymen’s terms a shifter’s emergence is caused by being conceived at the height of a full moon or during a solar eclipse or other lunar moments.
Life was basically normal for Robin Clements until his freshman year in high school. Everything changed when he sprouted delicate, vivid wings. Robin’s mother began calling him Blue and his father forbade him leaving their home. He was brutally punished whenever he did go outside. The only thing that kept Blue going was the sensual and beautiful dreams he’d have of a stranger with golden eyes.
Even knowing he’d pay a painful price for escaping again, Robin snuck out to go to the movies one evening where his shyness gets the better of him. If not for the gorgeous guy that comes to Blue’s rescue his bid for freedom would’ve been a bust. Little does Blue know that meeting Wallace Malloy was written in the stars and his future is about to change in ways he could never imagine.
Wholly original, packed with drama and sensuality, On the Wings of a Butterfly is intense. The premise of a shifter’s origins being caused by the stars is an intriguing idea. Blue is a character sure to enchant readers with his naïve sweetness, Wallace on the other hand is definitely hero material. The flow is slightly choppy as the story unfolds and finds its voice. Once On the Wings of a Butterfly does get rolling Blue and Wallace take over to give readers a fascinating, suspenseful ending.
