Realistic or not, Jacen Ives fell in love with his older brother Micah’s best friend, Kayne Henderson, in childhood. Micah asks Jacen to keep his feelings for Kayne to himself, believing that the infatuation will run its course and no one would get hurt in the process.
The years pass and Jacen knows that his feelings for Kayne haven’t changed though it’s a hopeless cause. Making a clean break he leavesQueenslandfor theUniversityofMelbourneand a new life where he hooks up with George Markelle although his heart is already taken.
Degree in hand Jacen plans to use his savings to start a daycare center which George doesn’t take well at all. In fact, when Jacen arrives home he’s in bad shape and the police can’t locate George. It appears that the years haven’t been particularly good to Kayne as Jacen learns that he’s getting a divorce and responsible for his two small children. When Kayne seeks him out and bares his soul the things Kayne says leave Jacen speechless. Maybe dreams do come true.
A delightful tale of unrequited love becoming an unimaginable romance is brought to life in One Last Kiss Goodbye. Charming characters from Jacen to Kayne and the rest of the family engage readers throughout the story. The plotline may not hold any big surprises, but One Last Kiss Goodbye does have a strong emotional pull that’s impossible to resist. Enjoyable all the way through, One Last Kiss Goodbye pushes the right buttons.
