Patience Weber has hidden away on the Bride Ship/Train that has headed to the Washington Territory. While she is headed to Washington with the brides, she has no intention of every marrying again. She is doing well at “staying below the radar” until she is noticed by the town’s mayor (Adam) and his mysterious manservant (Raven). They are intrigued by her the first time they see her.

When her arrival circumstances are discovered, the mayor and his manservant come to her rescue and offer to pay for her passage as long as she will marry the mayor and live in his house. Once she is in the house she finds out that there is more to the relationship between Adam and Raven. Will they all fall in love? And when the secret between Raven and Adam is discovered by the townsfolk will the fallout split them apart or pull them further together?

Patience is Their Virtue is a wonderful addition to the Brides of Bachelor Bay series. I was intrigued as Ms. Adams dealt with the issue of half-breeds and the prejudice of those dealing with them. It was also interesting as to how Patience ended up in Washington and the specifics that lead up to it. While Patience is Their Virtue is part of a series it is possible to read it as a stand-alone. Though I recommend that you read the entire series and I am waiting for Amelia’s story.
