Rowena Revel teaches veterinarian studies in college when she sees strangely dressed men appear in her classroom. But that isn’t the strangest thing that has been happening to her – she has also been having some very strange dreams. Thinking she is losing it, Rowena finally talks to one of the men who appear in her classroom and the next thing she knows she is going through the wall herself into a different world.
That might have been odd enough, but suddenly Rowena learns about family she never knew about, being married, and kidnapped not once but twice. In a world where women are a rarity, Rowena finds herself in the middle of a multiple way tug of war where losing can mean death. As she is torn/stolen from one man to another, Rowena must learn how to live in a world where a woman has no voice over her own well-being. With so many men fighting over the few women means war is coming. As her life quickly changes over and over, Rowena discovers the one man she could come to love is the only one who hasn’t tried to force her hand. Yet another change brings Rowena and the man she secretly loves together, but does this love even have a chance to last?
A thoroughly modern woman finds herself in a world where men rule all and women are taken as a right or spoils of battle. Rowena Through the Wall tells about the times and trials of Rowena Revel as she finds herself in a dark ages world. I was very interested in the blurb when I saw it and started reading wondering what I would find. I was intrigued as I began learning about Rowena’s family in this new world, but it became a bit confusing as she was pulled from one man to another. I could truly believe how confused and helpless Rowena felt in this world and yet I just could not see a modern woman allowing herself to be passed like that without putting up one heck of a stink, which is not what was happening. I was happy to see that Rowena finally made it to a man she could love but the cliffhanger has me wondering if this will last for long. Rowena Through the Wall takes the modern and tosses it into a dark ages world with all the intrigue and madness that’s needed to survive there.
