Valerie Thomas is a reporter on a hot story and an even hotter man, Max. Valerie has more than a nodding acquaintance with the things that are kept hidden from the world. Not that she believes in all of them. But that was before Valerie was turned onto the unusual happenings around the house Max lives in and his housemates.
Max Rockwell is a soldier and werewolf who knows his job is to protect. Tell him what needs to be done and he will do it. What he has no idea how to handle is the sexy and nosey reporter who won’t take no for an answer. Max has been told to say nothing to Valerie, something he is finding harder and harder to do. But the night he finds Valerie being attacked by a panther, Max demands some answers.
Valerie is unprepared to discover how small the world is when she finally gets some answers. Max learns that Valerie is his mate and that is not his only connection to her. The story Valerie was working might never make the light of day, but the story she finds herself a part of is even more engaging. Passion and danger are the two things that encompass Max and Valerie’s lives right now. Mating brings even more surprises for both of them. Now both are doing all they can to protect their pack member and each other while the danger seems to come full circle when the ancients provide a few answers. Will the final answers come fast enough to keep everyone save and give Max and Valerie the time to explore the love they just found?
A reporter and a soldier come together just as danger threatens the life they are finding together. Max and Valerie must fight to keep the love they have found in Secrets. I found Max to be a crusty yet lovable wolf and Valerie to be a hard-bitten reporter with a soft heart. The two never had a chance once they finally started communicating. I enjoyed watching the two snip at each other and then circle around as the passion exploded between them. All of this goes on while the danger that surrounds the pack came full circle. Watching how smoothly Valerie intertwined with the pack and found a way to fight for it had me turning pages to see what would happen next. Passion held many surprises for Max and Valerie and it was only beginning. I can’t wait to see what the next installment to this pack brings after seeing what the first two couples have gone through. Secrets mixes up passion, suspense and humor into a wonderful combination of hopes, dreams and love found for Max and Valerie.
