Tanner Cage is one of the most unique paranormals. He is the son of a demon and a once fallen angel. Tanner prefers to be more like his father but there is a bit of his mother in him also. Tanner has learned the hard way to never get into a long-term relationship, his mother really is the mother-in-law from hell. Yet when he meets Hilly, there is just something about her that makes Tanner want that happily ever after.

Hilly is seriously attracted to Tanner but she fights it at first believing him to be the worse type of playboy. However the more she learns about him the less that title seems fair. Tanner finally tells Hilly about his mother and her past actions with his girlfriends and together they come up with a scheme to fool her. However when that backfires, Tanner believes he needs to not only break up with Hilly but also prove to her that he really is a scummy playboy. At first Hilly buys it but she has some powers of her own and discovers the truth. It’s going to come down to a power-play between heaven and hell and the fierce love between Hilly and Tanner to see if they can ever have the forever they want.

In-law issues become more than just the universal joke when Hilly and Tanner fall in love in Sexual Shift. I have hoped that Hilly would have her happy ending since I began the Magical Sisters series and finally she got it. While I knew that it would take an unusual man to not only accept Hilly’s powers but also those of her sisters, I didn’t expect Tanner and his background at all. However, Tanner was exactly the type of man Hilly needed and I loved how they fought so hard for each other. I truly loved the final battle and how their love overcame even the mother-in-law from hell, along with a little help from the other side. Sexual Shift is full of passion, magic and humor – the perfect trifecta for the last of the unusual sisters and their husbands.
