Dr. Cameron Kalamos and Ellie Russo are sent on their first mission together. They must save the child that disappeared and return the fae that is stuck on the human side. But dark forces are at work against them. As Ellie learns to control her Shadow that walks outside her body she must also control her feelings towards Cam. The attraction between them is powerful one neither can deny but Ellie must focus all of her energy on saving the missing child. However, her Shadow has other ideas. Can Ellie and Cam save the missing child and protect themselves from those out to harm them?

Shadow Play picks up almost exactly where Shadow Touch leaves off. Therefore, I highly recommend that this series be read in order. Ellie is learning how to control her Shadow and exploring her deepening feelings for Cam. I was drawn in immediately as this story starts off with an intense sequence that pulls the reader emotionally. I felt dearly for the mother, her child and the unfortunate predicament they find themselves in.

I found it exciting to learn more about the other side, Twilight, while following Ellie and Cam on their mission. Ms. Kellison has provided a lot of growth for her characters in Shadow Play. You can tell that both Ellie and Cam are different from the people they were when their journey began in Shadow Touch. I can’t get enough of Ellie and Cam; their scenes are fraught with deep emotions.

In a small amount of space Ms. Kellison gives the reader action, adventure, romance and a bit of heartache. I was stunned by the turn of events in Shadow Play and terrified by how they may turn out. Ellie and Cam are the kind of couple that I want to fight for! I can’t wait to see what happens between them in the future! I’m dying to read the next installment in this novella series!
