Dr. Bianca Sin is a forensic witch with a bit of a problem.  She has all her powers but because she has never been able to link with a familiar and her magic, Bianca is seen as never fulfilling her potential.  That hasn’t stopped Bianca from doing her best to help her community so besides working for the Academy and teaching forensic thaumaturgy, she is a member of an elite team who try to make sure that the Dark Brethren stays locked in their prison.

Lancelot (Lance) McManus is an NYPD homicide detective who has seen a lot of things, but the newest case is even getting to him.  Teenage girls are being murdered with dark magic and it appears that something more is going on besides the killing.  The only good thing about this case is that Lance can call in Bianca and spend some time with her –even under these circumstances.  His personal life might be headed downhill but Lance is determined to solve this case and end the gruesome murders.

Bianca and Lance team up to solve the murders and end up breaking a few rules along the way.  They are also finding out that their friendship was hiding a building passion.  Looking for answers places both Bianca and Lance in many dangerous situations and the tension seems to just keep building.  Bianca and Lance also both find some answers individually that neither expected.  The hunt is getting more deadly when Bianca and Lance believe they have found the true villains behind the murders but not the reason for them – but have they really figured it out?

Vicious murders team up a feisty witch and an unusual human cop to find the answers in Sin’s Dark Caress.  The first chapter told me that things were going to be dark until the murders were stopped.  I could tell that Bianca and Lance had an unusual relationship from that first chapter and it just became more interesting as the story rolled on.  I was not surprised to see that passion lurked under their friendship.  I totally agreed when Lance and Bianca skirted the rules a bit in order to find some answers.  As the murders continued and it became clearer what was going on, I started rooting even harder for Bianca and Lance to find the killer and yet the constant turns and twists kept me guessing on who was really behind it and what they wanted.  When I found the final answers I was shocked because it was nothing like I thought it would be.  It took trust, friendship and a budding love to get Lance and Bianca out of a situation that should have killed them.  Sin’s Dark Caress is full of suspense, deadly danger and a budding passion that will keep you guessing until the very end and beyond.  I will tell you that I can’t wait to see what the next chapters are in this Dark Brethren series.
