Dr. Trisha Norbit’s intellect may categorize her as a genius but she can’t seem to figure out why a certain New Species dominates all her thoughts. He was the first New Species she ever treated yet he doesn’t remember her. The New Species people intrigued Trisha enough for her to take a job with them only she never counted on that making her a target.

Slade doesn’t know why the Doc drives him crazy but she does. He is assigned as her bodyguard but he wouldn’t mind doing more to her body than guarding it. When the Doc is sent to the latest New Species home, Reservation he is sent with her. Unfortunately they never make it as their SUV is forced off the road by New Species haters. To make matters worse the enemy wants to make sure they are dead and this sends Slade and Trisha on the run for their lives.

There can’t possibly be a better bonding experience than fighting for your lives together but will Trisha and Slade be able to hold onto the sparks that were lit in the forest?

I didn’t think Laurann Dohner could out do her first New Species book, Fury but she has with Slade! It starts with a bang and does let go of the reader’s attention until the last page. There is so much hot action in and out of the bedroom that it turns Slade into a must have book! I love the story for its outstanding passionate characters, unyielding action packed sequences, all of the hot-blooded dominating males and the marvelous emotional scenes between Slade and Trisha! I admit I can’t get enough of these possessive wild men and the woman who do battle with them. Ms. Dohner packs a wallop of an emotional and suspenseful punch with Slade! Trisha and Slade make one hell of a couple. I think I’m smitten with them! Not only are there some outstanding action scenes but the emotional scenes between Slade and Trisha make this a stand-out story! And let’s not forget the stellar secondary characters! I can’t wait to see the rest of the sexy New Species find their mates!
