Sophia’s journey to find her lord leads her into Lord Raphael’s territory and when she gets there she doesn’t find the best welcome.

There has been a rash of murders in Cooper’s Nest the town former Navy Seal Colin Murphy calls home. He is the unofficial law in this part of the country and he is willing to do whatever it takes—even help a vampire Lord—if it means getting to the bottom of the recent murders and the horrific attack on a vampire’s mate.

Sophia and Colin have a history that would be quite sweet if Sophia hadn’t let him believe she was dead for the past ten years. Their reunion is cut short as Lord Raphael demands to know what brought Sophia into his territory and what it has to do with the recent deaths. Can vampires from different territories join together to defeat a common foe? Is it possible to overlook the hurts of the past to find happiness in the future?

Sophia is a sexy paranormal story with tons of high octane action. This is the fourth book in the Vampires of America series and I’m happy to say that Raphael and Cynthia the couple that started it all are featured hot and heavy in this story. Raphael and Cyn find themselves in the middle of another mystery and this time they find out new things about themselves and their relationship. I thoroughly enjoy this couple and I feel that they dominated this story. Sophia and Colin have a beautiful story and I loved the snippets into their past. I enjoyed the interaction between them in the present as well but I do find myself more engulfed in Raphael and Cyn part of the story. There is plenty of drama and action to make Sophia a hit and a definite keeper in this awesome series. D. B. Reynolds writing is spectacular and her way of leaving you hanging at the end is killer and I love it. Every time I think this one won’t end with a cliffhanger Ms. Reynolds manages to do it again. I absolutely cannot wait for the next addition to this series!
