Stygian Black is a wolf and he is part of the team that has entered the Navajo Nation hoping to find three people who might have the secrets that will be able to save Jonas’ daughter.  Two of those people are two girls who seemed to disappear into the mists one night.  Yet Stygian and the rest of the breeds have been able to target a very small group that seem to have answers they just aren’t telling.  One of those is the sexy daughter of Navajo Nation council member of course her father is the head of security there.

Liza Johnson has never doubted that her parents love her and that she is a valued member of the nation.  Liza has always been supportive of the breeds and their fight to survive.  Yet when this group shows up and demand answers on some missing people, Liza realizes that the nation and her father are keeping some secrets that could be deadly to her.  Liza finds herself extremely attracted to one of the breeds that have come to the nation – a lone wolf who makes her blood sizzle.  Yet Liza is not ready to trust him or those feelings without some answers that he isn’t ready to give her.

Stygian knows that Liza is his mate but she isn’t the type of woman to just let a man take over and keep her safe.  Danger seems to be focusing on Liza as everyone looks for Honor Roberts and Fawn Corrigan.  Liza has no knowledge of these women nor the breed that was traveling with them, yet she can tell that there is something strange going on as she and Stygian learn more answers and get more denials from her father and one of her best friend’s father – the leader of the nation.  Stygian and Liza are struggling to find a comfortable area with their mating as the danger and a few of the answers suddenly come into focus.  An explosive night seals Liza and Stygian’s mating and also reveals the deep secret many held for so many years – will it be enough to help not only Liza and Stygian but also Jonas’ daughter?

Three people on the run, a night of sorrow and a night of chaos bring two strong people together in a passion no secrets could tear apart.  Liza and Stygian both find the answers they seek along with an erotic passion in Stygian’s Honor.  I loved how Liza just would not bend down to Stygian but instead pushed him to admit she was just as strong as he when the protection of their people mattered.  Liza demanding answers from Stygian prior to giving into their mating showed me just how spunky and yet loving this couple would be.  I really enjoyed how this mystery was laid out and like an onion, answers were revealed one thin layer at a time.  While I had guessed one part of the mission, I would never have guessed what lead to it or the passion and terror that was involved in the how and why.  The breeds are not done with the Navajo Nation quite yet, and yet I know that as the other answers show up, Liza and Stygian will be there to help with the fall out.  The lasting love that Liza and Stygian fought for will be one that will help heal the open wounds – both theirs and others.  Stygian’s Honor is an erotic hunt for love and answers in a mystery that just keeps bringing more questions.

While the Breeds series can be read as stand-alone in most cases, for this baby arc in the series I would recommend that you read An Inconvenient Mate in the Tied with a Bow anthology and then Lawe’s Justice prior to this book: that way you will experience the full mystery that I have been talking about.
