Anarae Lavender never forgot the man on Il Doge with whom she spent her leave. The passion between them erupted into love. Now Diego, tremendous con-man, is onboard Hades Helmet. A cyborg assassin is stalking the lovers, and both are running out of time.
Can Ana and Diego rekindle their flame? Or will death destroy any possibility of a future together?
Anarae and Diego aka Dodger from Carnevale are back in action! I really liked this out-in-space action/adventure story that picks up where Carnevale left off. The author has carefully sculpted this sci-fi series into a sparkler!
Playtime for our sassy heroine and her debonair lover is over with a dangerous killer, able to be anyone and anything, out on the loose. The chemistry between Ana and Diego is as explosive and strong as ever, the sex as inferno hot, and the action as intense. Ana jumps back into her role as officer, gets to kick some butt while Diego ingratiates himself with everyone. Everyone loves a charming rogue. Right? I appreciate the level of intrigue in this story, learning more about Diego and Ana, the motivations behind a few of existing and new characters. It loaded the plot with interesting twists that swerved in three different directions.
Selena Illyria takes you on wild ride in space this time from the helm of Captain Drogan Carter’s ship, Hades Helmut. The hunky captain does make a guest appearance along with a list of fascinating characters that are complex enough to keep the series moving forward after this latest. My interest was kindled by the chief-of-security, Tigress, and her special ops group, the villain, and the ambassador. I don’t want to offer any more tidbits, and it would be really difficult to do so without risking spoilers. Last, it’s advised that before jumping into Subterfuge that you read Carnevale, the initial—and oh so very hot!–meeting between Ana and Diego.
