Carina Conte had always had her eye on her brother’s BFF, Max Gray. However, after his last rebuff, she has tempted to move on, feeling he will never love her the way she loves him. She throws herself into studying for and obtaining her MBA so that she can join the family business. Now she is in America, and she must learn the ropes beside the CEO of the company, Max Gray. She has determined that she will experience quite a few things while mastering the business, but Max isn’t keen on letting her gain knowledge in all that she desires.
Max hasn’t really noticed that Carina has grown up, until she shows up to shadow him at work. When she convinces him that she only wants one night in Vegas, and if he can’t give it to her, some other guy will, he gives in to what he has been fighting all along. Max had counted on ‘what happens in Vegas, staying in Vegas’, but he never counted on something supernatural working against him!!
The Marriage Mistake was a light-hearted fun read with some very hilarious things taking place between the covers. I adored the fact that Max didn’t know what hit him when Carina teased and taunted him so much throughout the story. He thought he knew it all, but he was really just as lost as the rest of them!!
At first I didn’t think I would like The Marriage Mistake, but then I looked beyond the seriousness of life and found the fun in the story. Sure, it might not have always held with the common belief of traditions, but I think that convenient “individual” had an ulterior motive in The Marriage Mistake. At the end of the day, there was a little more depth to The Marriage Mistake than I had anticipated, and I enjoyed the tale.
