Shari Lacey has recently had her share of hard knocks. She determines to pick herself up and never fall for that trope again. Recently dumped Luc Valentin was looking for his devious cousin when he comes across a very intriguing woman. Feeling the sparks fire between him and Shari, they explore it all in one night, only to find that there are repercussions to their passions. Will Luc be able to convince Shari that she can trust him when he can’t seem to open up to her?
The Night That Started It All was an interesting story that seemed different from the ones I have enjoyed recently. I liked that Shari was a bit reluctant on things because of the history she had as The Night That Started It All revealed in the opening. However, I wanted more resolution to that instead of the easy way out the perpetrator got in the story.
Luc was a wonderful romantic hero in The Night That Started It All, but he didn’t really seem to have too many hang-ups to cause any drama either. Yes, he was arrogant, hot, wealthy, and he had a past, as well, but it wasn’t enough to keep me interested. I liked several of the scenes in The Night That Started It All, and the dialogue between the two protagonists could be very entertaining. However, there was no angst generated for me. There was nothing really memorable for me at the end of The Night That Started It All.
