Andrew and Danny have waited long enough for the brides to decide who they want to marry. In fact once they are drawn to Rachel and feel time is wasting they decide to just kidnap her and take her home. Once they have Rachel home they figure they can convince her to stay.
Rachel was on the verge of choosing the two men, so when she is kidnapped she doesn’t protest too much. In fact she grows to love them rather quickly. But, do they return her love? They do not take her back to town for a marriage ceremony so she is uncertain. But then Rachel is attacked by one of the strange creatures that inhabits the new planet and she is almost lost to them forever.
Will the three figure out what their true feelings are and be able to forge a new life together?
The Rancher’s Bride is the second story in The Men of Space Station One and yet another winner for Ms. Monroe. Imagine traveling to a new planet, which is touted to be the next earth and finding out not only do you not know the men you are to marry but things on the planet might not be as similar to Earth as they were lead to believe. Add to this the feelings of uncertainty (and of her husbands’ feelings for her) that Rachel has for the men she has grown to love and you have the recipe for an out of this world story. The Rancher’s Bride is a winning story for all who wonder what life might be like on another planet.
