Lily is a nurse who is starting over in a new place. She considers herself lucky that not only did she find a good job with the local doctor in the small town but that he also had a place she could rent. Lily has the personality that can help heal anyone, be it a person or an animal. Gaining trust is just something that comes naturally to Lily, but she does not take it for granted and once she has gained that trust she will do anything in her ability to keep that same person safe and cared for.
Cale aka Tiger is a mercenary with a small group of all ex-military operatives. He never knows when they will be called in to do a job or how dangerous it might become. It was on a job when his younger brother, Dillon, was severely injured. Cale trusts very few people, so he made the trek to the only doctor he would trust with Dillon. He never expected the small blond that tries to fight him upon entering the doctor’s office.
Lily is shocked when her boss volunteers her to host Cale and Dillon over the Thanksgiving holiday while Dillon recovers enough to move on. Neither Cale nor Lily expected the passion that seems to flare up and grow hotter the more they come to know each other. Cale has been badly hurt in the past by trusting a woman with his heart and he has no plans to do that again, yet Lily gets past his barriers with little effort. Cale and Dillon know that the fallout from their last job could be deadly dangerous and it could follow them to Lily’s. Lily knows that when Dillon is ready, Cale will walk out of her life and yet she can’t resist the feelings and knows her heart will be broken when he goes. It becomes a race on whether Dillon will get well enough to move on before the danger following them finds out where they are and about Lily. When Thanksgiving morning dawns, will it be the holiday that Lily is hoping for or will it be the day her heart breaks and maybe the day she dies?
A woman who can’t turn her back on anyone who is hurt and a man who doesn’t trust easily find out that love can break through any barrier. Tiger’s Lily brings Lily with her gentle heart and ways together with Cale, a man who trusts very rarely and almost never a woman. I loved watching, as Lily seemed to just bedazzle Cale without even trying. I know that Cale never saw her coming until it was too late. I laughed a few times when younger brother Dillon put in his two cents. Right up until the end I wondered if Cale would be able to accept the love that Lily offered, but I should know that you just shouldn’t bet against fate. I also loved the sneak peek at the rest of the Wind Warriors and wonder just who will be the next to find their love. Tiger’s Lily is a softhearted look at a love and the journey back to family with a ribbon of danger to keep you wondering.
