Nash Wentworth has secretly been in love with Shauntie Kane for a long time. But because of his no-good cousin causing her a great deal of heartache, she is reluctant to dates guys who use their hands for a living like him. The perfect opportunity presents itself where Nash can show Shauntie what it is truly like to date a man whose purpose is to cherish her mind, body and soul. Although Shauntie is playing hard to get, Nash is determined to win her heart. But when Shauntie discovers Nash’s ties to her old flame, will she feel betrayed and kick him out of her life without any explanation?
Too Hot to Touch is a great opening story for Marie Rochelle’s Hunks series. Shauntie is a complex character. At first she appears to be somewhat of a snob by looking down her nose at certain type of men; however, as the plot moves along, I begin to understand the reasoning behind Shauntie’s attitude. She built a shield so thick around heart to protect herself from being hurt again. When Nash enters the picture, he has his work cut out for him. I really admire how he refuses to give up on Shauntie. At the right moments, he knows just how to be forceful without being too harsh and, more importantly, he uses his kindheartedness and determination to prove to Shauntie that his love is genuine and that he only wants to love her for who she is, not for what she can give him. Wow! Now, that’s my kind of man. Shauntie is one lucky woman! I can’t wait to discover Ms. Rochelle’s next hunk.
