Natalie Torrence has a blog where she outs so called psychics for being con artists. When Natalie learns of a new psychic and what they do, she arranges to meet them and uses a story that would grant her an appointment with the psychic. This time she is after a man who supposedly talks to ghost. All went according to plan until Natalie walked into his residence for their meeting and all heck broke loose.
Ian Walker has had his gift for many, many years and has seen a lot of hurt and sadness in his line of work. However some of his clients and the person they need to reach can make everyone very happy too. Ian doesn’t take on all the clients who contact him and something about his newest client just doesn’t seem right. Then once something seems to attack her, Ian learns that not only is Natalie not who she said, but she is a notorious blogger who has hurt many real psychics while uncovering the fake ones. Ian really doesn’t need this right now, but he might not have a choice.
Natalie races home from her meeting with Ian only to find herself still under some kind of unseen attack. It doesn’t take long for Ian and Natalie to discover that they will need to stay together to not only figure this out but to keep Natalie safe. Searching for answers, Natalie learns that there really are true psychic individuals and that she has hurt some of them with her blog. Ian has long believed his sister to be deceased when she disappeared so long ago but that just might not be the fact as this search for answers in Natalie’s problems leads to Ian’s past. A ghost is after Ian and Natalie it appears, but is that all that is after them as more facts are revealed? Passion has brought Ian and Natalie closer together during their hunt for answers, but when the final facts are discovered will it be enough to save Natalie and even the psychic community that she has come to believe in now?
Love and danger turns a non-believer of the supernormal into a true believer. Natalie and Ian both learn not to believe the accepted in Touching Heat. I enjoyed seeing both Natalie and Ian not only discover love during their journey to find answers, but also that they both discovered that they might be soldiers in a new battle for all supernormals. At first I believed that just the ghost who was after Ian and Natalie was the worst thing after them, however I soon found there was something much worse after them and the other supernormals. I loved seeing the understanding enlighten Natalie as she learned more about Ian and those like him. The unexpected help that Ian and Natalie had and the way everyone gathered around to become a fighting unit has me wondering just what other books will be coming in this new series. Touching Heat is both romantic and suspenseful with a couple of unexpected twists that will have you wondering what’s next while turning the pages to find out.
