Chase Noble, a soldier from the present, has been searching for a place to belong his whole life. Only how was Chase to know that his place in this world is in the past? Since he is part Fae when he is whisked back in time several hundred years, he is not too shocked. Chase determines to find out why he was sent to the past and if it was where he was meant to be all along.
Christiana MacDowylt has a gift for seeing things that her evil half-brother, Torquil, uses for his benefit. Seeing that there is an option to gain her freedom, she forgoes rescue by her other siblings. Christiana can only be rescued by one man—one that she is drawn to and holds so much power in his hands. Can Christiana be clever enough to trick Torquil in having the wolf in sheep’s clothing in his service, or will her scheme be discovered? Will Chase be able to rescue Christiana and have what he has desired and sought his entire life?
Warrior Reborn is an engrossing time travel romance that mystified and bedeviled from the beginning. It is the continuing saga of the Daughters of the Glen series and it explores their lives more fully. I was eager to see an end to the villain from the last book in the series that I ventured through with Melissa Mayhue.
Warrior Reborn had some clever thoughts coming from Christiana and it was nice to see a heroine that could hold her own against most adversaries. I truly felt that while Chase and Christiana belonged together, if she could have found another path to save the day, she would have taken it as well. Who doesn’t like to see a female pull the wool over another character’s eyes a few times?
For the most part, you can’t go wrong with a Melissa Mayhue book if you are looking for some good old fashioned paranormal entertainment, and Warrior Reborn is no exception.
