Humans are a minority now in the world that Nicolette (Nikki) Sinclaire Reece lives in. A virus has infected most humans and has changed them into other beings based on their ancestors. Nikki herself has a leg in two different worlds and because she believes even the weakest deserves a chance, Nikki uses her skills and powers to help humans, of course that is if they can pay her fee.
A new serial killer has been killing women in such a way it has been difficult to discover who they were but it appears that a ritual is involved somehow. Nikki has been hired by the King of the Shifters and discovers the true identity of all the victims. On the case now and armed with information on identities, Nikki is using her skills and contacts to find out everything she can about who might be doing this, how they are overpowering such powerful beings and most important – why.
Once they meet the King of the Shifters suddenly has more on his mind than just hiring Nikki. He has discovered she is his mate along with his first-in-command is determined to not only use Nikki to revenge the murders but to also make her theirs. Nikki has never experienced such sex in her life and finds it overwhelming to say the least. An in your face woman, Nikki has decided to avoid this discussion until she can’t avoid it anymore – but especially not until this is over. As the clues are uncovered and answers found, Nikki learns not only what is doing the killing but that the madness behind it comes from an even more powerful place. The final battle will put not only Nikki and her lovers at risk, but also her best friends. In the end, just who will survive when the sun rises and will Nikki be able to live with the results?
A powerful woman who takes life by the horns finds herself in a race to locate a murderer and to save herself from several people seeking to make her pick a side that doesn’t include humans. The power struggle is only part of the issues affecting Nikki in Wolf’s Eye. I love kick ass women and Nikki is just that type of woman. She protects the weak and has her own strong moral code that she adheres to. I loved how when she found herself overwhelmed by intense sexual partners, Nikki admitted it even while avoiding the net trying to sneak around her. To say this is going to be a bumpy romance isn’t quite covering it I don’t think, but I’m looking forward to seeing what the next angle is the wolves use. I loved Nikki’s adventure and protection of her friends when they came to her assistance. Wolf’s Eye is an adventure full of magic, suspense, erotic passion and loyalty, the type of story that makes you sigh when it’s over.
