Navy SEAL James Chayton Lonetree, also known as “Maverick”, was not going to marry the woman that his parents had picked out for him just so he could fulfill his Lakota heritage, especially since he had no meaningful interest in the woman sexually or otherwise. Maverick was all too happy to leave town to follow a persistent vision, than to be continually harassed by his parents and a woman who refused to believe that they were not getting married. As a SEAL Maverick was trained to be prepared for the unexpected; however, nothing could have primed him for what he discovered in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Tempest Burrell never thought this day would come, but after twenty-one years James ‘Maverick’ Chayton Lonetree had finally resurfaced in her life. Nevertheless, Tempest wasn’t about to allow Maverick to hurt her a second time around. But no matter how hard she tried to push him out of her life for good, Maverick refused to let sleeping dogs lie, especially after he learned her secret – he was even more determined to earn the forgiveness for his past wrongdoings.
With a heavy heart, I am sorry to say that Chayton’s Tempest is the last book in Aliyah Burke’s Megalondon Team series. Man – I am going to miss this team! Kudos goes to Ms. Burkes for saving the very best for last. This story had all my favorite qualities: betrayal, hatred, distress, trust, drama, passion and most of all undying love.
Tempest had been dealt a harsh life, yet it made her very strong-willed in the end. While Maverick was resolute and not afraid to go after what he wanted. The chemistry between Tempest and Maverick was scorching hot from the start and their passion didn’t die down for one moment. Whew!
Fans of this series will be thrilled by the revisit of all eight Megalodon Team men and their awesome wives. Overall, Chayton’s Tempest is one spectacular, Joyfully Reviewed recommended read not to be missed!
