I’ve never known anything except fighting to survive, first as a child with hellacious parents, then as a soldier sent to Afghanistan and these days as an undercover cop for the LAPD.  Most call me Snake, but my given name is Adam Bertoni.  The only person who really matters, when you come right down to it, is Peter Ortiz.  He has stuck by me since we became cops over fifteen years ago.

It is Peter, who is huddled over me, sobbing and screaming at me while I bled out on a dirty sidewalk near the marina.

Because of God or most likely the Devil, I didn’t die for good that night.  It seems that now I’m a vampire.  That’s right, a blood sucking demon fiend.  Something weird is going down in LA and I aim to find out exactly what’s happening.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m no crusading cop saint.  Hell, I’m skirting on the edge of legal most every day.  Being undercover for awhile tends to mess with your mind, for me it’s even harder.  Wish me luck while I try to figure things out.  Hopefully I won’t freak Peter out too much cause he watched me die, only I didn’t

Uniquely fascinating, Immortality is the Suck will blow your mind!  Told entirely in first person point of view, Adam is devious, dark and occasionally devoid of a moral code. He’s a wiseass and a slut as well.  His relationship with Peter is impossibly complex.  Immortality is the Suck is incredibly original with vampires, LA gangs, and more.  At times Immortality is the Suck reminds me of a massive train wreck you can’t help looking at.  Even though I didn’t always like where the characters were taking me I still couldn’t stop reading.  I Joyfully recommend Immortality is the Suck.  It’s perplexing, erotic, disturbing, and enthralling.  Love it or hate it, Immortality is the Suck is entertaining.
